Notebook: Nets 91, Timberwolves 83

THE FACTS: Brook Lopez scored 22 points, 10 of them in the first six minutes, as the Brooklyn Nets opened a quick 12-point lead to win in Minneapolis for the first time in more than a decade, handing the Minnesota Timberwolves a 91-83 loss in Target Center. The Nets, who improved to 12-2 under interim coach P.J. Carlesimo, outscored the Wolves 14-2 in the first four minutes and never trailed, breaking an eight-game losing streak in Minnesota. Brooklyn guards Joe Johnson and Deron Williams added 18 points apiece, while Andrei Kirikenko led Minnesota with 15 points. Wolves guard Ricky Rubio did not play in the fourth quarter, at one point called back from the scorers’ table when fill-in coach Terry Porter elected to stick with J.J. Barea, and the second-year guard was visibly angry on the bench, with teammates trying to calm him down.
