Jay-Z has made his intention to represent professional athletes very well known. A press release disseminated earlier this month by his entertainment company, Roc Nation, officially announced the creation of Roc Nation Sports, a full-service management company that has partnered with Creative Artists Agency’s (CAA) sports division. That same release also stated that Jay-Z will co-represent New York Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano. The initial release was quickly followed with word that Jay-Z will represent New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz, whose National Football League Players’ Association (NFLPA) certified Contract Advisor is Ben Dogra of CAA. Last night, Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports published an article that focuses primarily on why Cruz’s relationship with Jay-Z increases the likelihood that Cruz remains a wide receiver for the Giants. But nestled a few paragraphs into that article is the following tidbit of information, which has many football agents up in arms.
