The Clone Wars: "To Catch a Jedi" Review

“To Catch a Jedi” didn’t quite hold up the incredible adrenaline and ominous tone of last week’s episode, but seeing Ahsoka on the run continued to be a compelling and fascinating turn of events.

The trailer released last summer for The Clone Wars: Season 5 showed glimpses of Ahsoka fighting Asajj Ventress, so it was good that their initial confrontation gave way to an unexpected alliance between the two – and that Ahsoka both first suspected Ventress was behind the Jedi Temple bombing and then quickly realized that wasn’t the case.

Still one of my favorite characters on this show, Ventress again was a very fun, very morally murky presence, who still seemed utterly out for herself, but obviously not quite as nasty as when we first met her – Best shown when she bragged, after a confrontation with Clone Troopers, “See, didn’t kill one. It’s the new me.”

The Clone Wars: Ahsoka and Tarkin at Odds

This past weekend, Star Wars: The Clone Wars began its big final story arc for Season 5, and, as viewers saw, there were many casualties — including Jedi, clones and civilians — when an explosion tore through the Jedi Temple hanger.

IGN has an exclusive clip from this coming Saturday’s episode, “The Jedi Who Knew Too Much”, as this story continues. Anakin and Ashoka have captured Letta, the woman seemingly responsible for the attack. But who should make the final call on her guilt and her potential punishment? As you can see in this clip, Ahsoka and Tarkin, a rather ambitious Republic military leader, have very different viewpoints on this. And where does Anakin stand, given he’s so close with Ahsoka, while his destiny is tied in with the future Grand Moff Tarkin, who will one day command the Death Star?
