Will Ferrell and Jack Black are attached to star in New Line’s Tag Brothers, a new comedy based on a Wall Street Journal article that the studio picked up in a recent bidding war.
The story follows a group of former classmates from Spokane, Washington, whose long-running game of Tag got a feature story in the Wall Street Journal. Now in their 40s, the group takes the month of February to chase each other across the country, all while juggling their personal and professional lives. The game can get intense and has been known to involve friends breaking into each other’s homes and offices.
Mark Steilen, director of Wieners and The Settlement, will write the screenplay. Todd Garner’s Broken Road will produce with Steilen.
