Approval Expands Footprint of AUBAGIO Across Three Continents and Further Advances Genzyme’s Global MS Franchise

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Genzyme, a Sanofi company (EURONEXT: SAN and NYSE: SNY), announced today Argentina‘s National Administration of Drugs, Food and Medical Technology (ANMAT) has approved once-daily, oral AUBAGIO® 14 mg as a new treatment indicated for patients with relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis (MS).

“Studied in one of the largest clinical trial programs of any MS treatment, AUBAGIO has had consistent effects across all the important measures of MS disease activity including slowing the progression of disability, reducing the number of brain lesions as detected by MRI and reducing relapses. The clinical data supporting AUBAGIO confirm its importance as a new treatment option for MS patients,” said Dr. Jorge Correale, Head of Neuroimmunology and Demyelinating Diseases, Raul Carrea Institute for Neurological Research FLENI, Argentina.

The decision by ANMAT represents the first approval for once-daily, oral AUBAGIO in Latin America. AUBAGIO is also approved in both the United States and Australia, with additional marketing applications under review by regulatory authorities around the world.

The ANMAT approval of AUBAGIO was based on safety and efficacy data from the TEMSO (TEriflunomide Multiple Sclerosis Oral) trial. The ongoing AUBAGIO clinical development program, involving more than 5,000 patients in 36 countries, is amongst the largest of any MS therapy. Some patients in extension trials have been treated for up to 10 years.

GREENSBORO, N.C.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– TE Connectivity today announced the launch of a new breed of network infrastructure management support. Driven by the demand and popularity of mobile, always connected and always available device-driven technologies, TE has created the Infrastructure Configuration Manager (ICM) mobile app for tighter control of customers’ physical networks. The ICM mobile app is a tool for use with an active ICM software system, linking to the ICM server to coordinate planned work orders and provide direct technician messaging and responses. The mobile app is now available, free for a limited time, on iTunes.

ICM is the software that powers TE‘s managed connectivity solutions, designed to give network operators a higher level of visibility into their physical network. ICM is a real-time, fully automated physical layer documentation system and a complete application for managing work orders, network topology, level 2 discovery, reporting and alarms. According to a Gartner Group study, 59 percent of unplanned network downtime occurs in the physical layer and 28 percent of data center outages are caused by human error by mistakenly making changes in the physical layer.1 TE‘s managed connectivity platforms – ICM software and Quareo connection point identification (CPID) technology – were engineered expressly for monitoring and managing the physical layer of network infrastructure. MINNEAPOLIS–(BUSINESS WIRE)– TE Connectivity has announced its Rapid Fiber panel product line for data centers. The Rapid Fiber panel is a cabling concept designed to enable speed and flexibility in construction and expansion of data centers, including the many moves, adds and changes they experience. The Rapid Fiber panel helps data center operators and installers deliver superior service with a faster response time, and is ideal for ever-changing network communications infrastructure environments.

New VAMs Enable Network Operators to Easily Integrate Optical Components into the Network

MINNEAPOLIS–(BUSINESS WIRE)– TE Connectivity (TE) announced today that it will launch its new line of NG4access value-added modules (VAMs) at the Optical Fiber Communication Conference and Exposition and the National Fiber Optic Engineers Conference (OFC / NFOEC) in Anaheim, CA. This new line of VAMs is designed for use with TE‘s NG4access ODF platform, a unique solution set that addresses today’s cable management challenges in central offices, head ends and data centers by leveraging industry-leading fiber termination density and ease of circuit accessibility. The NG4access VAMs offer easy integration of optical components into the network for increasing fiber capacity, troubleshooting or distributing signals to multiple subscribers.

Choose from a variety of VAM configurations to meet the needs of specific network applications. VAMs are also available for coarse wavelength division multiplexing (CWDM) and dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM), which can combine or separate multiple signals with different wavelengths.
