Made a mistake by having my carpenter pave my driveway. It was an asphalt driveway before, because there was water, flooding into the basement, my carpenter recommended getting rid of the flowerbeds and sealing the perimeter of the house with concrete. This is the outcome of that (Please see screenshot).
My carpenter suggested using a asphalt sealer and covering the entire driveway, so there wont be any color difference. However, base on my research online it isnt such a good idea covering asphalt sealers on concrete, it just wont last.
It looks horrible now, what can i do to make the whole driveway evenly color coated? Base on what I know, concrete sealers come in gray or clear color, and asphalt sealers are black.
Or should I just pave asphalt over the concrete and then have asphalt sealers cover the entire driveway.
Would appreciate any help that you guys can give, spent quite a bit on house renovation already, and this issue is giving the family a headache.

There’s currently vinyl shutters on both sides of the door and vinyl siding above and below. Assuming I got a piece of pre-fab vinyl fencing or something of that nature to use, what would be the best way of securing it to the side of the house?

For all of you United States citizens you should probably be careful what kinds of hand signals you use while abroad. All of you living outside the U.S. is this pretty accurate?

The first guy gave us a quote for just doors–using the existing frames (which I guess are in good enough condition to keep).
The second guy gave us a quote for the same doors–but with Plastpros “PF Frames(tm)”–a poly-fiber integrated frame. (Here’s some info on those: http://www.plastproinc.com/_pdfs/2012%20PF%20Frame.pdf)
The door/frame combo is more than twice as costly–but interestingly, the two quotes are within $300 of each other–primarily I think because there’s less labor involved in installing the door/frame unit? (Two guys for two days for the door-only install vs one guy for one day for the door/PF frame install.)
Not knowing anything more about it, it seems logical to assume that the door/PF frame combo is the way to go, isn’t it–especially since the final cost is fairly close? Wouldn’t that make for a much better/tighter fit than putting JUST a new door into an existing frame?
Or is this one of those counter intuitive things?

Here are the questions I have with doing so.
1. Do I still need to do a layer of compacted gravel and sand beneath the paver bricks?
2. Are all pavers the same? Will any old paver brick support the weight of a car above it?
3. Do I need to build a form to keep the pavers in place?
Thanks for reading and hopefully for your insight.

Do I need just a new switch, or new tank as well. When the pump does cut in the water pressure is good (~45 psi) but it just goes too low before cutting in again (<10 psi).
Symptoms I’ve read for leak in pressure tank bladder don’t seem to really apply. The pump is not constantly cycling etc.
Thanks for your help,
James

Privacy has been a heated topic in recent months, with everyone now up in arms over unauthorized leaks and exposures. And guess what—tablet and smartphone users are just as vulnerable.
Remember, the Google Play Store is unfiltered, so malware can just as easily make its way onto your Android device just like it can your computer. It could be masked as a seemingly harmless puzzle game, a fancy wallpaper, or pretty much anything else you can think of.
If you download apps from third-party stores or directly from developers, you can be at greater risk. Last month, Juniper Networks analyzed… more

As a side note, the thermostat is working just fine wirelessly and controls everything great however, like stated above, it won’t connect to the RedlINK system because I can’t register it with Honeywell so I can’t control it through my computer.

I have a really small sump pit, probably about 10-12 inches. Probably installed when the house was built in 1976. It fits one sump pump and one sump pump only. When it rains really hard the drain tile pours into the pit pretty fast and the pit is too small to install a batter back up. I get pretty nervous about the potential to lose power during a hard rain.
Has any used a power inverter with a battery bank to power a pump in case you lose power?
I contacted a plumber and got a quote for $1,500 to remove the old pit and install a new one. I thought that was a little out of line……maybe I’m wrong. I think I can do it myself but wouldnt want to damage the drain tile that is snubbed in there.
Thoughts? Comments? Snide Remarks? Easy Solutions?
Thanks

Customizing isn’t all rooting and ROMs—there are plenty of ways to customize your Samsung Galaxy Note 2 or other Android device without gaining superuser access. One of the easiest ways is to install an Android launcher, sometimes called a home launcher, that matches your style.
The launcher you already have, TouchWiz Home, is essentially just an app that controls the user interface of the homescreen, allowing you to view widgets and open apps easily. Since this is just an app, it makes it easy to swap it out with another without rooting or gaining any special privileges.
We’ve already… more
