Norma Joan Brennan Crashes Car Into Target While Getting Driving Tips: Cops

Norma Joan Brennan, 79, was on her way to get driver’s license restored Thursday when she crashed through the front doors of a Target store in Ocala, Fla., the Associated Press reported.

Brennan’s passenger and the owner of the car, Rev. Kevin Holsapple, told police that he was giving her some driving tips in the parking lot when she pressed down on the gas pedal instead of the brake, according to the Ocala Star-Banner.

Florida man accused of stealing and snorting human and dog ashes gets jail

A central Florida man accused of stealing and snorting the cremated remains of a man and two dogs has been sentenced to more than eight years in prison for a string of burglaries.

Authorities say Jose David Diaz-Marrero and two other men stole the urns containing Holli Tencza‘s father and two Great Danes in 2010, along with jewelry and electronics.

Detectives said the men told investigators that they thought the urns contained crushed pills. They realized they were wrong when they saw an article about the theft published in the Ocala Star-Banner.

Diaz-Marrero pleaded guilty in June to four burglaries, including the one at Tencza’s home.

The Star-Banner reports that Diaz-Marrero apologized in court Friday. One of the other men has been sentenced to nine years in prison.
