We’ve been playing Star Trek: The Game, which bridges the gap between J.J. Abrams’ hit 2009 movie and its forthcoming sequel, Star Trek Into Darkness.
In the first video, Alex and I follow Kirk and Spock as they answer a distress call from a nearby space station that’s having a few problems with an erratic sun. It’s the very first mission of the game, showcasing several of the game’s core mechanics – including how to use Trek’s iconic tricorder – and some of the game’s key locations, including the bridge of the Enterprise. (We’ve edited it down a bit to concentrate on key moments.)
In the next video we visit New Vulcan. If you remember correctly, Spock’s homeland was destroyed in the first movie by a rather miffed Romulan known as Nero. The level demonstrates how stealth works in the game, the usefulness of Spock’s mindmeld ability and Kirk’s first encounter with the game’s ‘big bad’ – the Gorn.
