One Direction Wax Figures: Madame Tussauds Releases Photos Of Unfinished 1D Sculptures (PHOTOS)

By The Huffington Post News Editors

One Direction is gearing up to go on a different kind of tour this spring that doesn’t involve live music or even the members of 1D themselves. This month, Louis, Liam, Harry, Zayn and Niall are going to be featured in Madame Tussauds… as wax figures!

Though we have to wait until April 18 to see the full unveiling, the famous wax museum in London — which recently revealed Emma Watson‘s life-size wax figure — gave fans a sneak peek by posting photos of 1D’s unfinished wax figures on their website.

So far, we can only see the boys’ unfinished faces, but they’ve certainly come a long way from pranking Directioners back in November, when they pretended to be wax figures. At least now they’re actually works in progress!

Emma Watson’s Wax Figure And 9 Other Life-Size Replicas Of Our Favorite Young Celebs (PHOTOS)

By The Huffington Post News Editors

Justin Bieber, for example, made a splash when he came face-to-face with his own wax statue in March 2011, and it’s been reported that One Direction was fitted for their own set of wax figures, set to appear in London in April.

Steam train chugs through London's subway system

Tourists waiting for their morning subway train to Madame Tussauds were treated to an unusual sight Sunday: a 19th- century steam engine chugging down the tracks.

Transit officials sent the Met Locomotive 1, built in 1898, down London‘s Metropolitan Line to mark the 150th anniversary of the capital’s Tube network, the world’s oldest.

Hundreds of train fans, costume-wearing enthusiasts, and curious onlookers gathered at platforms and bridges across the city to watch as the locomotive traveled non-stop from Kensington Olympia station in the west to Moorgate station in central London.

London Mayor Boris Johnson was among the invited passengers aboard the historic black-and-red locomotive. He said the trip was “romantic,” describing “thick clouds of white steam going past and then bits of soot coming through from the engine.”
