Global Colocation Solutions Provider CyrusOne Sponsors Global Peering Forum 8.0

Attendees to share technical knowledge on the latest in data center connectivity

DALLAS–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Global colocation solutions provider CyrusOne (NAS: CONE) will be a sponsor at the Global Peering Forum 8.0 on April 8 to 11 at the Loews Coronado Bay in San Diego, Calif.

“We are pleased to be involved in this global event,” said Josh Snowhorn, vice president and general manager, Interconnection at CyrusOne. “This will be the eighth Global Peering Forum, bringing together almost 200 peering coordinators negotiating and managing the interconnections that make the Internet so robust.”

Best-in-Class Facilities and Networks

CyrusOne’s Texas IX peering and interconnection platform enables enterprises, content companies and ISP‘s to exchange traffic in a customized data hall, designed for maximizing power usage effectiveness (PUE). It dynamically enables peering within a single location, within a metro at multiple facilities or city-to-city, to more quickly and affordably pull content from the edge of the Internet to the heart of the data center.

“Our industry-leading IX design encompassing the latest Brocade and Infinera hardware allows mass scale interconnections,” said Snowhorn. “Bringing this webscale technology to our data centers brings a true paradigm shift in the way an enterprise connects their production and disaster recovery environments.”

In addition to bringing the first-ever statewide IX to the United States, CyrusOne specializes in highly reliable enterprise data center colocation, engineering facilities with the highest power redundancy (2N architecture), and power-density infrastructure required to deliver excellent availability. CyrusOne has designed 24 carrier-neutral data center facilities across the United States, Europe, and Asia that give customers the flexibility and scale to perfectly match their specific growth needs.

The data center provider is renowned for exceptional and personalized customer service and for building enduring customer relationships and high customer satisfaction levels. Customers include nine of the global Fortune 20 companies and more than 100 of the Fortune 1000.

Global Colocation Solutions Provider CyrusOne Hosts Webinar on New Texas Internet Exchange (IX)

Brocade, Infinera, and CyrusOne share key insights on new interconnectivity platform

DALLAS–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Global colocation solutions provider CyrusOne (NAS: CONE) is offering a complimentary webinar Friday, April 12, from noon to 1 p.m. CST. The webinar is titled “How the New Texas IX Transforms Your Data Center Strategy” and is on tap to discuss how the new IX can deliver enterprises virtually unlimited, low-cost connectivity between a dozen top-tier data centers for unparalleled production and disaster recovery environments.

CyrusOne’s Austin, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio data center facilities make up the CyrusOne Texas IX, which is the first statewide IX anywhere in the United States. In addition to CyrusOne’s major facilities, its Texas IX will also connect to remote customer and third-party carrier hotels in these markets based on customer needs.

Presenters of the webinar include Josh Snowhorn, CyrusOne’s vice president and general manager of Interconnection; Greg Hankins, global solutions architect at Brocade; and Vinay Rathore, Infinera’s senior director of solutions marketing. The webinar is geared toward enterprise and Fortune 1000 chief information officers, chief technology officers, chief financial officers, information technology (IT) vice presidents, directors and managers, disaster recovery directors, and business owners.

“With the explosion of data, applications, and technology stretching IT infrastructure to the limits, IT executives must rationalize their data center footprint to cope with rapidly evolving business requirements,” said Snowhorn. “We are excited to partner with Brocade and Infinera to provide a robust platform for metro, regional, and long distance transport of data within the IX. It ensures fast, flexible, and reliable service, transport, and backup, and we look forward to sharing how these features can benefit companies in this region and beyond.”

During this one-hour webinar, presenters are expected to discuss how the just-launched Texas IX was built to connect data centers, the benefits of moving big data in this way, and how the IX can help companies manage IT applications, data transport, and disaster recovery efforts while enabling global access to both applications and data. Global Data Center Solutions Provider CyrusOne Partners with Infinera to Deploy High-Speed Cloud-Based Services in Texas

DALLAS & SUNNYVALE, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Global data center services provider CyrusOne (NAS: CONE) and Infinera (NAS: INFN) announced today their partnership on CyrusOne’s Texas Internet Exchange (IX), the first statewide IX in the United States. The IX network, powered by the Infinera DTN, based on 100 Gigabit per second (Gb/s) photonic integrated circuits (PICs), is expected to provide high-speed cloud-based services between CyrusOne’s major facilities and third-party carrier hotels in Austin, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio, as well as to customer data center locations. Piloting since December 2012, the CyrusOne Texas IX is expected to launch by the end of March 2013.

“The deployment of Infinera’s Digital Optical Network provides us with a robust platform for high-speed cloud-based services that will ensure service flexibility, minimize bandwidth costs, simplify network operations, and consolidate network architecture. In addition, the Infinera solution reduces latency for active-active disaster recovery requirements,” said Josh Snowhorn, vice president and general manager of interconnection at CyrusOne. “Infinera is one of the most respected optical telecommunications suppliers in the world. To provide this level of technology and support demonstrates our level of dedication to the CyrusOne Texas IX platform.”

The optical network supporting CyrusOne’s IX network is based on the Infinera DTN platform, embedded with Bandwidth Virtualization™. Bandwidth Virtualization allows optical capacity to be deployed as and when needed, without lengthy lead times or complex optical engineering. Powered by Infinera’s intelligent Generalized Multi-Protocol Label Switching(GMPLS) software, the DTN platform allows CyrusOne to quickly and easily provision bandwidth circuits on their schedule and quickly respond to the needs of their dynamic network. The simplicity of Infinera’s DTN platform, based on PICs, also provides CyrusOne with high reliability and a simple operational experience, assisting data center operators to rapidly deploy and operate their own optical networking systems.

“Data centers are an important part of the IT structure for large enterprises, and Infinera is excited to partner with CyrusOne on their Internet Exchange,” said Scott Chandler, Infinera Vice President, North America Sales. “With Infinera’s Digital Optical Network solution, CyrusOne benefits from the simplicity of operating a high-speed optical network, designed to meet the needs of cloud-based services.”
