Since its unveiling about one year ago, we’ve primarily seen Lost Planet 3 in small, contained demos or trailers that have been unveiled incrementally as the game approaches its release. In fact last year’s E3 demo consisted of samples pulled from various parts of the game, designed to give a broad overview in a short period of time. But what will Capcom’s Lost Planet prequel look like when it arrives on store shelves this June?

We wanted to find out, and we managed to convince Capcom to let us show you the first 30 minutes or so of the game, minus one cutscene right at the start, which contains some story spoilers that are being kept quiet for now. Barring that, this is how the game begins, with lead character Jim Peyton arriving on the icy planet E.D.N. III. You’ll watch Jim discover how harsh this new world can be, see him discover his new home and base of operations, and journey with him on his first mission.
