(Amarok 2.0 Script)
This is an alarm script for Amarok.

You can schedule an alarm for every day of the week.
Once the alarm script is enabled, it remains enabled, even after Amarok restarts.
The script will be disabled only when you manually disable it.

The configuration of the script is saved each time enable/disable is clicked.

Usage

Wake up time

  • Usually
    This is where you schedule alarm time for every day. If the day is not
    checked, no alarm is scheduled.
  • Exceptionnally
    You can setup a “one-shot” exception: the script will ignore every
    scheduled alarm and wake you up at the time specified. After the exception
    happens, it is automatically disabled, and the script goes back to the
    “usual” alarms.
  • Music

  • Track
    You can decide which track should be played:
    – First: first track of the playlist.
    – Next: next track relative to current.
    – Last: last track of playlist.
    If unchecked, script will play the current track.
  • Progression
    You can set the track progression. This will change the track progression
    setting of the playlist.
    If unchecked, the current track progression is used.
  • Volume

  • Volume
    Let you decide which volume should be used when playback starts.
    If unchecked, current volume is used.
  • Fade-in
    Decide if you want any fade-in, and how long it should last.
    If unchecked, no fade-in.
  • Computer
    In case your computer will be suspended to RAM at the alarm time, you must
    check this box. This will schedule a wake-up of the computer through the RTC.

    1. Write a shell script to print the file names of all files having .txt extension of a given directory after converting to uppercase letters. The input (directory name) should be given as command line argument. The script will also check whether sufficient arguments are passed or not and whether the argument is a directory or not. In case of invalid input, proper message should be displayed.

    2. Write a script that would print any one of the following message along with the username according to the system time:
    Good Morning, between 12 AM and 12 PM.
    Good Afternoon, between 12PM and 4 PM
    Good Evening, after 4 PM

    3. Write a shell script – compare.sh
    It will take two string arguments from the user, compare them and give the output “Both are same” or “Both are different” based on whether they are same or not. If input string is null, error message should be given.
    If user enters less or more number of arguments, an error should be thrown

    4. Write a script which accept a number from command line and check whether it is prime or not. If it is prime number then store this number into prime.txt file otherwise store into notprime.txt file.

    5. Write a shell script – reverse.sh
    It will take a line as argument from the user, and display it in reverse order. If input string is null, error message should be given.

    6. Write a shell script that prints the total number of users having a given file in their home directory. The input filename should be supplied as command line argument.

The script will check whether sufficient arguments are there or not and whether the argument is a file or not while the script is executed. In case of invalid input , proper message should be displayed.

    8. Use awk for displaying first n numbers in Fibonacci series where n is supplied as command line argument.
    Note: Fibonacci series of numbers are 0 and 1, and each remaining number is the sum of the previous two. For e.g. first 5 numbers in Fibonacci series are 0, 1, 1, 2, 3

    Levinson Talks The Bay

    We recently had the chance to chat with Oscar-winning director Barry Levinson (Rain Man, Good Morning, Vietnam) about making the leap to horror with his found footage movie The Bay, now available on Blu-ray and DVD. Here’s what he had to say about the movie:

    IGN Movies: One of the things that struck me about this film was that it asks a lot of you to basically trust in your cast in a way that I don’t think any other director probably quite has to this point. Can you talk about that challenge? Did you view it as an opportunity?

    Barry Levinson: Well, as we’ve evolved in terms of life, everybody holds cameras nowadays. The mystery of the camera is pretty much over, and everybody videos. So you figure, they’re gonna shoot as they shoot. They have a certain understanding of it, and part of the imperfection of it is actually good for the film. Sometimes, in some takes, there’d be a mistake and instead of hitting the “on” button, they did something where we literally didn’t have something, on occasion. But for the most part, it served the purpose of the movie.
