It’s getting ever more difficult to differentiate between the bad guys and the good guys in our government these days. Our president is literally getting away with murder, and NO ONE is doing ANYTHING about it.
The Benghazi SCANDAL has generally been dismissed by most of the American public because the press effectively refuses to say much about it. Obama’s crew successfully made a laughable circus out of the birth certificate SCANDAL, so that now most anyone who mentions the problem is instantly labeled a “birther” and promptly discredited. Nevertheless, the evidence confirming it to be a total forgery is OVERWHELMING. In fact, experts armed with both solid science and impeccable reputations now amass a crowd of sources worldwide who are willing to stake their reputations on the fact of its falsity. Beyond that, our president has spent a fortune in court trying to bury the whole matter, rather than allowing that inquiry process to play out to what should be a happy ending for him (if he is telling the truth).
There is the SCANDAL of breathtakingly lavish spending of our tax dollars on entertainment for our self-indulgent president, his family, and friends (in the face of our terminally inflated national debt that adds insult to injury upon every taxpayer in this country who is fighting hard just to stay alive). There is the SCANDAL of his excessive, fiat governing and non-transparency in circumventing the checks and balances that were so necessarily built into our beautiful Constitution. And there is the SCANDAL of the personal oversight and CONTROL he has demanded and achieved regarding our freedoms of expression, protest, and communication in instances he deems as times of ‘national emergency.’
The above-mentioned problems and a host of others accompany the administration of this man about whom we still know so little. And, in the midst of the sea of voices of warning and protest now around us, no one seems to be DOING much of anything to retard the progress of this monster.
I think it’s because most of what’s left of ‘We the People’ are not putting our feet down and insisting upon the responsible accountability of our elected leaders. And our leaders of either party won’t do anything until the cry of our protest becomes louder than the intimidating thunder of a biased press. It’s because politicians are more afraid of losing their fat jobs than they are dedicated to accommodating and defending what is right and good.
No matter what the causal problem really is, though, the sad and frightening fact remains that no individual in the history of our nation has ever held more precariously unbridled power over her people. Never before have so many in authority, whether voluntarily or by force, held their peace in the face of such egregious abuse of trust and leadership. I have never read of or imagined a darker time in the history of this wonderful country.
