Yoenis Cespedes and Bryce Harper electrified the sold out crowd at Citi Field on Monday evening with prolific displays of power throughout the 2013 Chevrolet Home Run Derby. In total, the eight participants hit a combined 103 home runs that traveled 41,753 feet (7.91 miles) while raising $529,000 for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Major League Baseball’s Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) program. However, the big winner of the evening was Joshua Witherspoon from Jackie Robinson-Jersey City RBI. As a result of being paired up with Cespedes for the competition, the young man won a $50,000 donation towards a baseball field makeover.
