Jury deliberating case of kidnapped Texas boy

An East Texas jury is deliberating the fate of two women accused of kidnapping a Houston boy when he was 8 months old and hiding him for eight years before he was found.

Jurors got the case Tuesday after closing arguments in the trial of Krystle Tanner and her mother, Gloria Walker. Each is charged with kidnapping and injury to a child in the 2004 disappearance of Miguel Morin, now 8.

Each woman faces up to life in prison if convicted. The trial is in San Augustine, about 140 miles northeast of Houston.

Kidnapped Texas boy goes to live with 4 siblings

A now 8-year-old boy kidnapped as an infant has moved into a new Houston-area home with his four siblings and their legal guardians.

Miguel Morin moved in with Junita and Joseph Auguillard on Friday after a judge granted them custody. They are also the legal guardians of Miguel’s four biological siblings. They also have eight of their own children at home.

Miguel has been visiting on weekends since November, and spent two weeks with them in December. The Auguillards say he fits right in.

Miguel has been in foster care since authorities found him in March. Miguel’s former baby sitter, Krystle Tanner, and her mother, Gloria Walker, have been charged with kidnapping and injury to a child in his 2004 disappearance. They have pleaded not guilty and remain in jail.

Kidnapped Texas boy to be reunited with family

A Texas boy who was kidnapped as a baby will be reunited with his siblings.

A judge in Houston ruled Wednesday that 8-year-old Miguel Morin should be removed from foster care and given to a couple caring for his four siblings. The boy has been in foster care since authorities found him in March living in East Texas with his former baby sitter.

Child Protective Services officials say their goal remains to eventually have Miguel live with his real parents but more review is needed.

Meanwhile, Miguel is expected to reunite with his siblings by Friday after paperwork is completed. Another couple has been taking care of them under an agreement with the parents.
