Just as the brief season defines a moment to view intricate Savoir Faire via houses like Chanel, Dior, Giambattista Valli and Valentino, it also marks a terrific moment to launch a high quality item. Cameron Silver – often labelled Hollywood’s King of Vintage – took full advantage and flogged his large and well-illustrated tome Decades – A Century of Fashion, published by Bloomsbury. Not only did he manage two book signings at the Moynat boutique – renowned for its only available in Paris handbags – and W.H. Smith – the English bookstore – but he also attended all the shows as well as snoop into certain couture ateliers.
