THE FACTS: One streak came to an end Friday night when Lakers guard Kobe Bryant scored 27 points to finish under 30 for the first time in the last 11 games, but Pau Gasol continued another with his suddenly potent 3-point shooting. Dwight Howard also stepped up with another big game against the Trail Blazers, helping the Lakers (15-15) move back to .500 with a 104-87 victory at Staples Center.

THE FACTS: Kobe Bryant scored 34 points in an impressive 40-minute performance, lifting the Los Angeles Lakers past the Philadelphia 76ers 111-98 Sunday night at the Wells Fargo Center. Metta World Peace scored 19 points and swept a career-high 16 rebounds while Dwight Howard also contributed 17 points and 11 rebounds. Darius Morris had a career-best 15 points for the Lakers. Chris Duhon scored 14 points and Jodie Meeks had 12 against his former team. The Lakers improved to 11-14.

Shooting guard C.J. Miles also scored 28 points for the Cavaliers, while center Anderson Varejao had 20 points, nine rebounds and five assists. Lakers shooting guard Kobe Bryant scored a season-best 42 points, while center Dwight Howard amassed 19 points and a game-high 20 rebounds. Cleveland snapped its five-game losing streak and sent Los Angeles to its third straight loss.
