Apple's 128GB iPad Just Gave Every Android Tablet Manufacturer A Headache

By Ewan Spence, Contributor Apple’s announcement of a new iPad SKU with 128GB of storage is a wonderful tactical stroke. Phone Wars: As Apple Drops Will Samsung, Nokia, RIM, Or Lenovo Replace Them

By Rob Enderle, Contributor Apple’s weakness has become very evident this quarter with their gamble to step away from the screen size race clearly backfiring on sales.    The drop in sales growth isn’t as significant as the increasing perception that not only is Apple no longer leading they can be beat and Samsung is currently doing the most damage with Nokia’s strengthening phone numbers adding to the perception that that Apple is vulnerable.    RIM’s valuation has been strengthening in advance of their Blackberry 10 launch which, given they don’t have product in market, likely makes them a beneficiary rather than a cause of Apple’s weakening, and Lenovo came out of left field to dominate the Chinese market while everyone else was focused on Apple and the Western World.

Apple: The Negatives, Neutrals, Positives and Stock Outlook

By Chuck Jones, Contributor Apple is down 10% this morning to about $465 off of disappointing December quarter results.  I’ve put in bullet form what I believe the negatives, neutrals and positive items were from the numbers.  Overall I’d be a buyer but am not looking for a quick bounce as there is a lot to digest and as the stock continues a transition from growth to value owners.

Apple Pulls Photography App: When Is Nudity Pornographic?

By Tim Worstall, Contributor Apple has pulled a photography app from the App Store on the grounds that it allows access to pornographic images. Which, it has to be said, is really rather prudish of them. Even, comparable to the folk tale of Victorians putting trousers on pianos so no one could see the legs.

Which Way Are Apple's Results Going To Go? One Tiny Technical Point To Watch

By Tim Worstall, Contributor Apple reports its results on Wednesday and of course, given that it’s the largest company by capitalisation, analysts are all over it. And all over the place as well unfortunately. No one has a clear idea of what the results are going to be. Not even whether they’re going to beat past quarters or not. Sure, of course, we’ll all know on Wednesday but that’s not all that much use when everyone else gets the information at the same time. But there is one little thing to consider which could give a clue to the future. Something that might be in those results.
