American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee Communications Director Raed Jarrar joins Ahmed Shihab-Eldin to talk about America creating a sectarian divide between during the Iraq War.
“These issues were not a part of the daily life,” Jarrar said. “We didn’t talk about who’s a Sunni and who’s a Shiite…until 2003. There is a very clear line in Iraq‘s consciousness when these issues were introduced.”

Dan Rather joined HuffPost Live Friday and told host Ahmed Shihab-Eldin that while he thinks President Obama has been a “fairly good president,” he has broken at least one major promise to the American people.
“He did promise more transparency. He has delivered less transparency,” Rather said of Obama in the clip above. “Far less transparency. He hasn’t met his promises about that, no question about it.”
Rather also spoke about drones (in response to a HuffPost Live community question), saying tat he doesn’t believe “that any one person, not even the President, should have the power alone to call strikes on other American citizens like what was done in Yemen” and calling for a “national debate” about whether and how the U.S. government should use drones.
