If you’re like me, you sucked at MLB 12: The Show. As it was the first Cross-Play game for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, I really wanted to fall in love with Sony’s baseball sim, but I couldn’t get the hang of hitting and hung up my virtual cleats.
MLB 13: The Show understands my pain, and that’s why it’s introducing Beginner Mode. Here, the title walks you through pitching, hitting and timing in a nine-inning game. Basically, Sony says the game throws fast balls down the middle until you’re making good, consistent contact. Then, the pitches mix in balls and strikes until you learn to lay off balls. The process continues to evolve until you no longer stink.
